    Nelnet Financial Services (NFS) is seeking an intern to join the NFS investments team, with a focus on structured finance investments/asset management. The hire will assist with a wide range of tasks related to the investment process including risk assessment, underwriting and performance tracking.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Provide investment analysis assistance across various specialty finance asset classes including consumer unsecured, auto, small business, home improvement and other loan types

    + Collaborate internally with employees and departments to accomplish work projects

    + Maintain and update comparable deal tracker

    + Complete special projects as assigned by management

    + Manage multiple conflicting priorities & consistently meet deadlines

    EDUCATION:

    Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field

    EXPERIENCE:

    Relevant coursework in finance, accounting and business

     

    Prior internship in finance or accounting preferred

    COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    + Attention to detail.

    + PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

    + Good oral and written communication.

    + Ability to follow directions. Willingness to learn new processes.

    + Knowledge of accounting practice and procedures.

    + Energetic and enthusiastic attitude.

    + Good work ethic and habits.
