• Manufacturing/Mechanical Production Planner

    US Tech Solutions (Milpitas, CA)


    Duration: 18 months contract

    Job Description:

    + The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge—ideally from semiconductor or capital equipment sectors—a strong foundation in new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining manufacturing, and hands-on experience with SAP and advanced Excel tools.

    + This is a senior-level role requiring a self-starter who can contribute immediately with minimal onboarding.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage production planning in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.

    + Create, manage, and close work orders; maintain accurate build schedules and BOM alignment.

    + Monitor cycle times and standard costs in collaboration with finance.

    + Identify risks in the build plan and propose effective mitigation strategies to meet delivery commitments.

    + Coordinate closely with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and quality teams.

    + Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and routine audits.

    + Engage with supply chain to ensure on-time material delivery and develop contingency plans for delays.

    + Support quality investigations and address non-conformances collaboratively.

    + Communicate project status, risks, and resolutions effectively to stakeholders.

    Experience:

    + 5+ years of experience in production planning within semiconductor, capital equipment, or similar complex manufacturing environments.

    + SAP experience – minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of hands-on use.

    + Advanced Excel proficiency – including daily use of VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and charts.

    + Proven background in NPI and sustaining manufacturing support.

    + Experience working in low-volume, high-mix operations.

    Skills:

    + Strong planning, scheduling, and procurement skills.

    + Proficiency in inventory control and materials management.

    + Proficient in ERP or MRP systems such as SAP.

    Education:

    + Equivalent experience in a similar manufacturing role will be considered.
