    Corrosion Technician I - Starting Range: $55,600 - $69,000

     

    Corrosion Technician II - Starting Range: $64,800 - $86,000

     

    Corrosion Technician III - Starting Range: $74,500 - $92,900

    The Corrosion Technician treats the factors that cause corrosion to maintain external and internal corrosion control on the pipeline system.

    About this job:

    + Maintain external and internal corrosion control on the pipeline system

    + Perform required Department of Transportation surveys including pipe to soil, ground bed, atmospheric, and others

    + Build, inspect, and maintain rectifiers and junction boxes

    + Inspect and maintain remote monitors and test stations

    + Assist in ground bed design

    + Review, correct, and improve the Pipeline Compliance database

    + Oversee contractors and direct work of other employees during ground bed construction

    + Complete documentation and update the Pipeline Compliance System database

    + Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, codes, policies, and procedures

    + Travel away from home area and stay overnight as needed (variable depending upon position) - 10%

    + Lift up to 50 pounds frequently

    + Locate lines

    + Maintain equipment

    + Oversee Summer Corrosion Aides

    + Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Demonstrated experience or training in corrosion control preferred

    + Required to become NACE level CP 1 certified within the first 12-18 months

    + Meet and maintain "Operator Qualification" standards

    + Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

    + First Aid/CPR Certification

    + Subject to DOT drug testing requirements

     

    Corrosion Technician I - Starting Range: $55,600 - $69,000

     

    Entry Level position - High School diploma or equivalent. 2 years related field experience or training in corrosion control or related trades preferred. Perform routine corrosion surveys/inspections. Record data and compare to established criteria. With clear direction, assist with the maintenance and construction of the Cathodic protection system. Adhere to policies, procedures and regulations including safety. Oversee Corrosion Aide on annual survey. Regular travel is required within assigned division and occasional outside division.

     

    Corrosion Technician II - Starting Range: $64,800 - $86,000

     

    High School Diploma or equivalent. AMPP Cathodic Protection Tester (CP 1) certification. Perform more comprehensive corrosion surveys/inspections. Assist with the maintenance and construction of the Cathodic protection system. Collaborate with operations and planning to develop and implement corrosion management plans. Proactively adhere to policies, procedures and regulations including safety. Oversee Corrosion Aide on annual survey. Provides guidance to entry-level technicians. Regular travel is required within assigned division and occasional outside division.

     

    Corrosion Technician III - Starting Range: $74,500 - $92,900

     

    High School diploma or equivalent. AMPP Cathodic Protection Technician (CP 2) certification. Perform advanced corrosion surveys/inspections. Be a leader in the maintenance and construction of the Cathodic protection system. Proactively collaborate with operations and planning to develop and implement corrosion management plans. Adept at mentoring junior technicians and providing training on safety practices and regulatory compliance. Oversee and train Corrosion Aide on annual survey. Present findings and solutions to a wide range of audiences including management. Play a lead role in strategic decision making regarding corrosion control initiatives. Stay updated on new technologies and practices in corrosion control and effectively share with others. Regular travel is required within assigned division and occasional outside division. .
