    About the Role

     

    The **Director of Operations – Aftermarket** will lead the end-to-end supply chain operations for our aftermarket business. This includes strategic and operational responsibility for Materials Planning, Purchasing, Material Governance, Distribution Center (DC) Operations, Logistics, and Order Management. The role is pivotal in driving service excellence, cost optimization, and operational efficiency to support our aftermarket growth strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    + Develop and execute the aftermarket supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.

    + Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational performance, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce cost-to-serve.

    + Build strong internal partnerships across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, and Finance.

    Materials Planning & Purchasing

    + Oversee demand forecasting, inventory management, and replenishment planning to ensure product availability.

    + Lead purchasing strategy and supplier engagement to drive cost savings, quality, and reliability.

    + Monitor procurement KPIs and ensure compliance with sourcing policies.

    Material Governance

    + Implement robust material master data processes and governance to ensure accuracy and alignment across systems.

    + Define and monitor policies for BOM, part number lifecycle, and classification consistency across plants and DCs.

    DC Operations & Logistics

    + Manage the performance of Distribution Centers (in-house or 3PLs) to ensure world-class service levels, inventory accuracy, and throughput efficiency.

    + Oversee inbound and outbound logistics including carrier management, freight optimization, and delivery reliability.

    + Ensure all warehousing and transportation practices comply with safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.

    Order Management

    + Lead the end-to-end order fulfillment process from order entry to delivery, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.

    + Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, and IT to improve order visibility, cycle time, and responsiveness.

    Team Development & Leadership

    + Lead and develop a high-performing team with a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    + Foster talent development, succession planning, and skills advancement across the organization.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree

    + 10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or aftermarket functions

    + 5+ years of experience in people leadership

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Demonstrated success managing complex supply chain networks, ideally in a manufacturing or aftermarket service environment.

    + Deep knowledge of planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis), logistics platforms, and material master governance.

    + Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

    + Proven ability to lead transformation, manage change, and deliver measurable results.
