    Salary Range: $4,500 per 3-credit course

     

    Duration: Fall 2025 semester

    Brief Description of Duties:

    SUNY Morrisville seeks candidates for adjunct faculty to teach courses in game programming and game design and development for the Fall 2025 semester (8/26/2025-12/17/2025).

    Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    CITA 113 - Intro to Game Design & Dev

     

    This course addresses the theories and practices of the video game design process, with an emphasis on maximizing the aesthetic qualities of student-designed video games. Topics include game design and development processes, game concepts, design components, game worlds, character development, and storytelling and narrative.

    CITA 245 - Intro to Database Concepts

    A study of the basic terminology and concepts associated with databases and database management systems. Topics include historical development of databases, data organization and structure, relational databases, and basic structured query language (SQL).

     

    CITA 255 - App Development

     

    Cross-platform mobile application (app) development focusing on User Interface (UI) design, layouts, and controls. Learning how to apply these fundamental developing concepts will result in higher quality applications being produced by students. Topics include navigation patterns, managing states, arrays, strings, and data binding.

     

    CITA 386 - Game Interface Design

     

    This course covers the creative and technical processes of designing interfaces specifically for electronic games. Design, evaluation, and prototyping of game interfaces for a variety of digital devices will be covered. This course focuses on designing interfaces that promote basic elements of interface design including aesthetics, functionality, usability, and accessibility.

    Courses May Include:

    + CITA 113 - Intro to Game Design & Dev

    + CITA 245 - Intro to Database Concepts

    + CITA 255 - App Development

    + CITA 386 - Game Interface Design

    Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Game Design, Interactive Media, or similar)

    + Practical, professional experience in game programming, game development, game design, or simulations

    + Proficiency in programming languages and tools commonly used in game and simulation development (e.g., C++, C#, Unity, Unreal Engine)

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Prior teaching or training experience
