    The Perinatal Educator-RN Responsibilities include:

    + Facilitating and presenting educational programs and support groups to community members including Prepared Childbirth, New Mothers' Support Group, Newborn Care, Water Birth, Yoga for the Mother-To-Be, and/or other related classes.

    + Assisting women and their families to make informed decisions for childbearing regarding benefits and risks evaluation, clarification of values and rights and responsibilities.

    + Maintaining competence in the practice of childbirth education and remaining current in research related to the childbearing process.

    + Assisting in on-going quality improvement based on feedback from participants.

    + Collecting accurate attendance data for statistics.

    + Performing other duties as assigned.

    + Promoting evidence-based clinical care that exemplifies the pursuit of clinical excellence.

    Position details:

    + **Location:** St Joseph's Women's Hospital - Tampa, FL

    + **Status:** PRN

    + **Schedule:** Tuesday & Thursday 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

    + **Weekends:** Every other

    + **On Call:** No

    Education:

    + Required Associates Degree in Nursing

    + Preferred Bachelors Degree in Nursing

    Licensure and Certification:

    + Required RN License - Florida

    + Required Certified Childbirth Educator OR Certified Lactation Educator OR Certified Breastfeeding Counselor OR Maternal/Newborn Nursing

    Experience:

    + Required 2 years RN experience in Labor & Delivery OR Mom/Baby OR Nursery/NICU

    + Preferred 1 year training/teaching
