Overview
This job contributes to REI’s success by supporting the current and future critical business capabilities that will enable REI’s future Merchandising & Co-op Brands to successfully deliver on initiatives and strategies to meet evolving customer needs. Utilizing your strong collaboration skills and merchandising background, you will work with Merchandising & Co-op Brands teams, as well as with Information Technology and the greater REI business community to design, deliver and support ground-breaking business capabilities.
The BPA role participates in future solution design while playing a primary support role on current Merchandising & Co-op Brands applications. Acts as a subject matter expert on Merchandising & Co-op Brands business processes, systems and tools. Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will advocate for the interests of Merchandising & Co-op Brands teams on cross-divisional projects. Coordinates carefully with cross-divisional partners and provides inputs to Change Management and Training activities.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
+ Contributes to business process design workshops, advocating for business users, understanding and enabling industry leading best practices across multiple merchandising disciplines.
+ Partners with technology teams to support all Merchandising & Co-op Brands strategies and initiatives.
+ Develop and maintain a complete working knowledge and documentation of Merchandising & Co-op Brands current and future processes, gaps/pain points, and applications (including business functionality, interfaces, data flow, and functional architecture).
+ Prepare requirements, functional specifications, user stories, business processes, and requests for proposals (RFPs) associated with Merchandising & Co-op Brands projects.
+ May participate in the design or development of division-specific tools. May administer systems and tools used by Merchandising & Co-op Brands teams.
+ Supports medium sized projects in collaboration with cross divisional partners, most significantly Merchandising & Co-op Brands Information Technology (IT)
+ Participate in all project status meetings as business lead; daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives and sprint demonstrations for Agile projects and all other project meetings as required.
+ Supports meeting project deadlines, milestones, release dates and schedules
+ Contribute to backlog grooming/prioritization sessions to ensure sign-off by business and development teams
+ Contribute to dashboards, reports, presentations and visual aids designed to educate, inform and influence business decisions of merchants and business leaders
+ Develop and build test cases, work with QA teams, and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end-users.
+ Develop end-user documentation and assist with training and rollout plans for new systems, or enhancements to existing systems as determined by direct Manager and/or Change Management lead.
Qualifications
+ 3+ years of progressive experience in Merchandising, product design & development, operations, process improvement or similar for related business units
+ Advanced computer skills, to include Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint), Jira
+ Knowledge/proficiency with Excel VBA, SQL, or other programming languages
+ Strong analytical, business process, communication and business acumen skills
+ Demonstrated experience with facilitating end-user sessions
+ Demonstrated ability to self-educate and learn while doing
+ Project management skills including ability to create individual action plans and timelines, and complete action items in a timely manner
+ Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities

Pay Range
$85,400.00 - $120,700.00 per year
