American Express’ Global Advertising & Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. Within GABM sits the Global Brand Strategy & Insights team, responsible for defining & accelerating the Amex Brand Strategy, delivering consumer insights, and elevating tools and learnings for the global Marketing Community.
Our team is looking for an experienced Senior Manager – US Consumer Insights. This role will sit within our US Product & Marketing Insights COE team to drive strategy and customer connectivity across key initiatives that are essential to success of the US Consumer Services (USCS) organization. This position reports to the Director of Membership Services Insights.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
+ Partner with American Express’s US Consumer Business (USCS) stakeholders to deliver against key strategic priorities, using customer insight
+ Use strategic focus, analytics and agility to consistently produce insights that drive better business results
+ Ensure business partners have a clear and actionable understanding of the American Express customer, through a synthesis across internal and external sources
A qualified candidate:
+ Translate research findings into compelling and actionable recommendations for the business
+ Takes a consultative approach; helps to articulate and prioritize information needs and translate into ‘researchable’ objectives
+ Strong analytical skills with ability to design research programs and methods to address business needs; can articulate rationale
+ Can effectively build relationships, partner, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels (i.e. BU, Dir, VP, SVP)
+ High energy, strategic thinker with proven ability to influence business partners and impact commercial outcomes
+ Strong executive presence with high degree of comfort in working with and presenting to senior leaders.
+ Has the agility and judgment to “read the room” and appropriately adapt to situations; is able to think on their feet
+ Innately curious and is always looking for the ‘why’ behind the data to uncover the insight
+ Demonstrates corporate maturity
+ Is a self-starter. Able to efficiently prioritize, problem solve, and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
+ Operates with a can-do attitude. Effectively works through conflict or ambiguity and proactively seeks solutions to problems
Additional Qualifications:
+ 7 years in consumer insights / market research, with emphasis on quantitative market research leveraging advanced analytics (including conjoint, segmentation, TURF, etc.)
+ Mix of research or ad agency and client-side experience a plus
+ Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional ability to inspire action and compelling recommendations
+ Marketing or market research related post-graduate degree a plus
+ Strengths in analytics and story-telling to turn research results into insights that influence business decisions
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously in order to embed insights into marketing.
+ Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
