    If you are a **System Administrator** looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our **Austin, TX** location, you will work as a member of the local DevOps team to support teams worldwide who are responsible for the development of DeltaV. DeltaV is the state of the art, flagship distributed process control system used by many of the top companies in chemical, life sciences, and energy industries. It consists of a variety of rich desktop and web applications used for engineering and operating a process control system, plus real-time embedded firmware in controllers and field devices directly controlling the process. Successful applicants will be expected to build and maintain existing software builds and developer environments as well as create and support the next generation of cloud-based tools. Come join us!

    IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:

    + **Collaborate** – Foster a creative atmosphere and work with team members, product developers, and department leadership to maintain critical build, infrastructure, and runtime system.

    + **Innovate** – Develop and test technologies to increase our market leadership using the latest tools and frameworks to accelerate our business. Research, prototype, and implement new technologies to use in our software delivery process.

    + **Automate** – Write automated processes to maintain our key infrastructure, automate recurring tasks, maintain backups, and provide reliability for our developers. Write scripts to handle small and large tasks.

    + **Iterate** - Help the DevOps team continuously improve its environment and processes.

    + Provide information and assist Manager/Supervisor with IT budgeting and cost control

    + Follow and enforce Emerson IT policies and rules regarding IT management, security, standards, and procedures

    + Ensure that relevant documentation is maintained and up to date

    + Support and maintain the implemented Infrastructure of the location’s HW, SW, and Database systems including:

    + All security standards to be aligned with the Emerson security policy

    + Systems and Data access

    + Backup and recovery including Disaster Recovery Planning

    + Asset management – including Hardware lifecycle management and SW licensing

    + Audit compliance

    + Pro-actively focuses on self-learning, applying self-study and attendance at required trainings to keep up with developing technology

    + Real-time responsiveness (within 4 hours daily) to voice and email requests

    + Act as a local point for IT issues (Infrastructure or Application) for the applicable SW development infrastructure maintained by the DevOps team

    + Ensure appropriate Application/Infrastructure Security, Performance, and Availability Management

    + Collaborate with Enterprise IT to discuss changes impacting the SW development environment

    + Manage WINS server for non-domain devices

    + Manage DHCP scopes and provide static IPs when required

    + Apply relevant patching

    + Manage world-wide security access to department resources

    **WHO YOU ARE:** You experiment with a wide range of existing technologies while applying new and emerging options that can enhance organizational outcomes. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are exceptional at spotting and seizing opportunities. You enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.

    FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

    + **Associate Degree in Engineering,** Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field **AND** 6 or more years related experience OR

    + **Bachelors of Science** in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field **AND** 5 or more years of related experience **OR**

    + **Masters in Science** in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field **AND** 4 or more years of related experience

    + Skilled in administering Microsoft Server and Windows environments

    + Skilled in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python

    + Experience in maintaining physical server and workstation hardware

    + Experience managing IT inventory and tracking associated budget

    + Experience managing Active Directory and other Microsoft domain policies

    + Experience in Computer Backups and Recovery

    + Experience in Microsoft Hyper-V

    + Experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration

    + General IT Hardware Technical Skills

    + Demonstrate good communication skills

    + Flexible attitude towards working hours, recognizing occasional requirement for after-hours support

    + **Must be legally authorized to work in the US without needing sponsorship NOW or in the FUTURE**

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

    + Experience working in a Systems Administrator role in the Software Development Lifecycle in a large-scale environment

    + Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)

    + Experience with the infrastructure-as-code paradigm and tools

    + Familiarity with static code analysis tools such as SonarCube, Fortify, or Coverity

    + Experience using container services (Docker/Kubernetes)

    + Experience using Microsoft Azure / Azure DevOps to create, deploy, and maintain Virtual Machines, Pipelines, Builds, and Storage
