    Job Description

    _NOTE:_** **_This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship._

     

    Develops, validates, tests, documents, and implements complex statistical models used to monitor suspicious activity within cryptocurrency custody accounts. These models are licensed from third-party vendors and are integral to the Bank’s financial crime risk management framework. The role involves adapting, configuring and overseeing the use of these models to ensure they are effectively identifying anomalous behavior and potential illicit activity in digital asset transactions.

     

    Key responsibilities include reviewing vendor model documentation, conducting periodic performance assessments, tuning/calibration and ensuring models meet regulatory expectations and internal risk standards. The position also requires clear communication of model performance, limitations, and findings to stakeholders across compliance, risk, and technology teams.

    Deliverables include:

    + Model performance assessments

    + Documentation of model implementation and monitoring procedures

    + Business requirements for model integration

    + Ongoing monitoring reports and related code

    + Presentations and written summaries for internal and regulatory audiences

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, and eight or more years of relevant experience

    OR

    - MA/MS in a quantitative field, and five or more years of related experience

    OR

    - PhD in a quantitative field, and four or more years of related experience

    Preferred Skills/Experience

    + **Experience with vendor-provided models for transaction monitoring or financial crime detection**

    + **Familiarity with cryptocurrency markets, blockchain analytics, and digital asset custody**

    + Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling techniques and validation methodologies

    + Strong programming skills in SAS, Python, SQL, or similar

    + Understanding of AML regulations, especially as they pertain to digital assets

    + Ability to interpret and communicate complex model behavior to non-technical stakeholders

    + Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills

    + Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

    _NOTE: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days._

    The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,605.00 - $131,300.00
