    POSITION SUMMARY

    Fort Dodge, located just 90 minutes north of Des Moines, Iowa, is recognized as a regional hub for retail and recreation. Our dedicated team in Fort Dodge works tirelessly to produce over 130,000 cases of beloved pet food brands daily, including Friskies® and Mighty Dog®.     As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll serve as a critical technical leader responsible for the design, development, and optimization of end-to-end process systems in the production of pet foods. Your scope will encompass all material handling and processing operations—from raw ingredient unloading through final product packaging. Join our close-knit team and leverage your expertise in food processing technologies to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing outcomes.

     

    + Lead the planning, execution, and coordination of complex process engineering functions across capital projects and deliver innovative solutions in integrated food processing unit operations.

    + Provide detailed process design and engineering support throughout the lifecycle of capital initiatives, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and system layouts, ensuring seamless integration with broader project goals including cost, schedule, safety, and quality.

    + Direct and collaborate with third-party engineering firms, OEMs, and other external partners to ensure design excellence and on-time project delivery.

    + Work closely with Standards, Quality Assurance, Operations, Maintenance, and Capital Engineering teams to ensure that process systems support innovation, food safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Ensure all designs and process changes adhere to company standards, industry best practices, food safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related field

    OR

    + Associate's Degree and 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related field

     

    The approximate pay range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
