Winship is seeking qualified candidates for the Asscoiate Director, Research Development position.** **Position details are as follows:
This postion will manage initiatives supporting oncology research at Winship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Reporting to Winship's leadership, position will support oncology research strategic planning, grants management, and will foster collaborations to advance cancer research.
+ Assists the Research Development team with the planning, development, and writing of multi-investigator and team science proposals, both governmental and foundations.
+ Assists the Res Development team with key aspects of the CCSG including the development of the CCSG data guide, drafting, writing content, and editing the CCSG competitive renewal, annual progress report, and supplements ensuring compliance, consistency, and continuity.
+ Assists with document preparation for research development team grants including non-scientific documents such as tables and supporting documents that may include budget development and justification, human subjects/animal research supporting documentation, other support documentation, and bio sketches.
+ Helps track program performance metrics, outcomes, and enhance reporting of team science.
+ Oversees reporting requirements including data sharing management for CCSG and other multi-investigator grants ensuring compliance and consistency with university, state, and federal regulatory policies and requirements.
+ Liaise with the University's Office of Clinical Research -assist with budget justifications as necessary.
+ Supports Winship leadership on special projects. Assists the Chief Administration Officer (CAO) with day-to-day operations ensuring smooth operation in both function and structure of oncology research administration activities.
+ Assists the CAO with all levels of planning to identify and build alliances with Atlanta and SE US institutions for advancements of cancer at all levels.
+ Assists the CAO in building the CAO network- including the identification of and planning and implementation of gap filling, as well as identify and implement new opportunities to ensure the forward momentum of oncology research and the greater mission of Winship.
+ Provides scientific guidance and expertise in the design, conduct and interpretation of research studies.
+ Identification of new/growing areas of cancer and aids in developing new partnerships.
+ May supervise research/research administration staff.
+ Fosters collaborations with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to facilitate research progress.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration, grant writing, and scientific reporting.
+ Familiarity with grant application processes, funding mechanisms, and scientific writing.
+ Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Health Sciences or a related field and seven years of experience in research development, proposal development, and/or research administration.
+ Master's degree preferred.
