This is a 1st shift role 7:30AM to 4:30PM. Applicants should live within 50 miles of the Williamsport location.

Job Summary
Lead a team of Material Handlers under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager. Ensure a safe and inclusive working environment, tracking that we are meeting or exceeding KPI targets, ensuring we have the proper materials to run production, and escalating requests as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Tier 1 shift handoff.
+ Setting shift rotation for the month.
+ Working closely with other shift leaders including production supervisors.
+ Coordinating warehouse activities to effectively facilitate operations, ensuring production has needed material, trailers are offloaded, and maximizing cube on outbound trailers to the 3PL.
+ Participate in new hire onboarding, tours of the plant and work area. Pair new hires with a West trainer on shift.
+ Create safety alerts and investigate incidents and/or accidents. Participate in ECFA meetings.
+ Escalating material needs to MC Specialists or Warehouse Manager
+ Making small inventory adjustments, especially after business hours.
+ Creating and/or procuring BOLs for shuttle transfers, especially after business hours.
+ Backfilling and/or assisting Material Handlers during busy days, vacations, PTO, call offs, etc.
+ Supply manufacturing areas with pallets, components, bags, boxes, lining material, and other materials as requested.
+ Ensure timely and neat stock placement so products remain damage-free.
+ Pull, label, and/or band, wrap, or otherwise prepare product for shipment to 3PL or for customer shipments.
+ Load product, materials, or equipment on freight carriers.
+ Unload inbound materials, equipment, and supplies.
+ Assemble and supply cardboard totes to the production floor.
+ Assemble and supply scrap totes to manufacturing areas. Collect and process scrap for trash or recycle as needed.
+ Remove trash from production floor and empty dumpsters in the trash compactor.
+ Remove scrapped cardboard from production floor, load and empty cardboard compactor.
+ Load the scrap trailer(s).
Additional Responsibilities
Education
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment
+ Ability to lead and be led. Prior coordination and/or team leader responsibilities in past positions.
+ Prior knowledge and use of RF Scanners or ability to operate a smartphone.
+ Prior forklift or heavy equipment experience.
+ Spatial awareness
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ In-depth knowledge of inventory control practices and systems. Ability to develop and document complex processes and controls
+ Ability to analyze data, generate insights and communicate effectively to management
+ Exceptional demonstrated problem solving skills, must be able to effectively present information and analysis
+ Demonstrated evidence of a strong team player who is able to build key relationships with team members across multiple functions throughout the organization and influence the broader organization
+ Ability to ensure successful delivery of identified cost savings
+ Advanced proficiency with Excel
+ Proficiency in SAP and expert level knowledge on SAP inventory transactions.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team. Strong ability to work across functions and divisions to deliver results.
+ Ability to work in a complex ambiguous environment
+ Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skill
+ Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
+ Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
+ Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
+ Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
Travel Requirements
10%: Up to 26 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
Additional Requirements
+ Stand and walk for 8-12 hrs. per shift – Moderate
+ Must be able to lift 35 - 50 lb. unassisted and/or 51+ lbs. occasionally (team lift)
+ Occasional above shoulder height work
+ Occasional stretching and arm extension for work related tasks/assignments
+ Occasional bending and twisting as required by the job
+ Must also be able to tolerate industrial odors and smells on a frequent basis
+ Must be able to work overtime shifts as directed
