BJC HealthCare System is hiring a **Full-Time Pharmacy Tech II** **(CPhT) – Inpatient 2 -** **_Sterile Compounding_** for our **Home Care Infusion Pharmacy (710 S Boyle Ave., St. Louis, MO).**

$2,000 Automatic Sign On Bonus Eligible!!!

Position Details:

+ **Full-Time Day Shift @** **4 x 10hr shifts per week Mon- Fri (8am-6pm)**

+ Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend, you will work a Saturday (8 hours) and receive a weekday off in return

+ This role primarily involves sterile compounding, including hazardous medication

_Requirements:_

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ **Missouri Pharmacy Technician License (required** ): The license can be obtained quickly—simply submit your application now and expect approval within 3-4 weeks. Submit an application to the Missouri Board of Pharmacy (note: this is a license, not a certification).

+ Must undergo a criminal background check

+ **_CPhT certification – required_**

_Preferred Experience:_

+ **Sterile compounding experience**

+ **Home infusion experience**

+ **Hazardous compounding experience**

+ **TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) compounding experience**

+ **National Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB or ExCPT) – highly preferred**

+ **At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience**

The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, and assists in dispensing & transporting medications. This position also conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, uses various automated/electronic systems and maintains the required documentation & records.

Responsibilities

+ Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.

+ Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.

+ Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.

+ Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.

+ Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
