    Summary:

    Primary responsibility is for the direction and management of all Specimen Processing activities performed by the laboratory as well as coordination and oversight of the nursing home/home phlebotomy team. This position is responsible for the coordination of activities encompassing patient registration, inpatient and nursing home/home phlebotomy collections; specimen receipt, distribution, and storage; and the supervision of the laboratory's supplies and document storage activities. Coordinates activities with other managers to achieve maximum productivity and efficiencies; facilitates positive interactions between Medical, Clinical, and Support Services personnel. Acting as the Quality Systems Manager for a specific site or area of responsibility, performs and documents QA activities as defined by Laboratory Administrative and Medical Leadership.

    Responsibilities:

    EDUCATION

    + Bachelor's degree in Business or Medical Technology and/or other appropriate discipline from an accredited College or University

    + MBA preferred

    EXPERIENCE

    + Four (4) years of supervisory/management experience in a customer-focused, service-driven organization

    + Proven success at managing a complex set of interconnected functional areas

    + Demonstrated customer relations experience

    + Demonstrated project management skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

    + Demonstrates strong leadership and ability to work within a team environment

    + Demonstrates the ability to develop professional relationships with physicians, administration, staff and all customers

    + Ability to work in stressful situations

    + Ability to work safely with infectious and/or hazardous materials

    + Demonstrates computer skills, i.e. MS Word, Excel, etc.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills

    + Science (particularly laboratory) background a strong plus
