Job Description
An Insight Global client is seeking a highly skilled and driven Vision System Engineer to oversee the setup and maintenance of their extensive train inspection vision system. The ideal candidate will be involved in the ongoing development of the vision systems and play a crucial role in future projects involving advanced camera technologies and automated systems. Day to day responsibilities include:
- Configure and maintain a multi-camera vision system.
- Regularly monitor lenses and camera hardware.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with camera and lens operation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate vision systems into future operations.
- Keep up with the latest developments in camera technology and embedded systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance for future vision system upgrades and developments.
Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.

Skills and Requirements
- 80% hardware/20% software
- Software experience:
Programming languages relevant to system integration and embedded systems
C+ - Hardware experience:
Camera Sensors and IOT
Working with wiring on cameras
Drivers/Racking experience
Knowledge of lens properties and maintenance
- Ability to learn the process of OR relevant experience to setting up and maintaining complex camera systems
Light blooming
Lense types
Apertures
Experience with embedded systems and systems integration - Bachelor's degree in any Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field
Not required but HIGHLY desired
- Experience with Robotic systems, mechatronics, or automation
- Prior experience in a similar industry or with large-scale vision systems
