Job Description

Come join one of the worlds largest digital media organizations. You'll be responsible for providing business intelligence, data analysis, statistical modeling, development and testing for the company's News web, mobile and internal platforms. Conduct exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms to deliver customer insights analytics. Designing, developing, and managing tools to support ongoing business reporting

Responsibilities include:

Dimensional Modeling: Craft and implement robust dimensional models for diverse datasets, including structured and semi-structured data.

SQL Proficiency: Leverage advanced SQL skills to query and manipulate data efficiently in AWS Athena and other relevant platforms.

PySpark Proficiency: Develop and optimize data processing workflows using PySpark.

Problem Solving: Engage in investigative data analysis to identify and resolve data-related challenges, including stakeholder requests and data integrity/accuracy issues.

Collaboration: Work closely with our team, partner teams, and stakeholder groups to understand business requirements and provide valuable insights.

Optimization: Continuously assess and enhance existing processes, employing innovative approaches to optimize data pipelines and improve overall system efficiency.

Documentation: Thoroughly document data models, queries, and processes, ensuring clear communication and knowledge transfer within the team.

Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing of data solutions to uphold data standards and ensure the reliability of analytical outputs.

Skills and Requirements

5 years of experience as a Data Professional (Data Analyst, Data Engineer)

- Strong proficiency using SQL

- Familiarity using PySpark

- Experience with AWS

- Experience with Cloud data tools like Athena and working within a data lake

- Comfortable using AI tools such as Github CoPilot or ChatGPT enterprise for tool training and solving business problems

- Needs to be comfortable with ambiguity and figuring out how to problem solve.

- Must thrive in a collaborative team environment Experience with Databricks null
