    Description

    1st shift Training** **and Development** **Supervisor

     

    HOURS:       1st Shift Flexible as needed

    Scope of Position:

    This position will spend the majority of the time on the floor and working closely with the operation teams focusing on the core of our business. This position will function as a leader within the organization by:

     

    + Developing and implementing all training needs for the company.

    + Evaluate and implement process changes.

    + Provide decision support.

    Responsibilities:

    + Training for production team members shall include but is not limited to policy and procedure orientation, job skills related to specific job assignments, food, plant and personal safety, teamwork skills and performance enhancement training.

    + Process Improvement: perform full operational reviews of processes.

    + Data Collection: conducts direct observation and reviews existing documentation. Performs time studies and measures workload.

    + Decision Support: provides long and short-term decision support to all levels of the organization. Use data to satisfy the decision support request. Develops, evaluates, prioritizes and presents any recommendations to the appropriate decision maker.

    + Spend at least 50% of their daily time on the floor working closely with our operation team and focusing on the core of our business.

    + Train new maintenance, rendering and management employees, including current plant employees at all levels in compliance programs. Thus, performing training to an authorized level.

    + Perform Compliance Audits [fire extinguisher, emergency lights, ladders, fall protection equipment, eye was stations, haz-mat equipment, calibrate IH monitors monthly, fire suppression system monthly inspections, etc.]

    + Participate at all levels in the emergency response effort

    + Work closely with HR training department to ensure proper training requirements are met

    + Log and track all compliance training

    + Assist with compliance program updates

    + Conducts Contractor Orientation

    + Evaluates newly hired maintenance employees to ensure they meet the safety qualifications of the position

    + Assist in special projects as needed by the department and other duties as assigned

    + Attend and give input during training meetings

    + Work schedule fluctuates depending on training demands

    + Job performance is measured by the Safety & Health Manager on such criteria as quality of training and communication ability with employees.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma required. A college degree is preferred.

    + proven safety and attendance record along with strong management skills

    + 5+ years of production experience required

    + Demonstrated experience in training delivery either in a one-on-one or group environment.

    + Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms and to successfully convey concepts, processes, and procedures.

    + The skills to relate successfully to a wide range of audiences, including plant personnel, management, and executive levels.

    + Display sound judgment, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.

    + Proven ability to effectively mentor trainees one-on-one and train in small or large groups.

    + The ability to create PowerPoint presentations, and/or manage database information is a plus.

    + Bilingual highly preferred

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    + Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.

    As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

    The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following **compensation and benefits** :

    + **Benefits** : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

    + **Paid Time Off** : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

    + **401(k):** company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

    + **Base annual salary** range of **$63k-68k**

    + **Incentive Pay:** This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s quarterly bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
