Quality & Benchmark Manager - Amazon RME
Amazon needs a results-driven Quality & Benchmark Manager to build and implement quality systems for Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME). This leader will guide field teams in creating effective decision-making tools for site managers, evaluate Fulfillment Center RME performance, and implement best practices to improve reliability metrics year over year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create a risk-based system to help site leaders prioritize work based on asset failure probability
• Collaborate with central reliability and RAPA (Risk Assessment and Preventive Action) teams to develop tracking tools and automation for new audit processes
• Create standardized RME procedures for maintenance quality, timing, and structure across all sites
• Conduct maintenance audits and analyze compliance with best practices
• Partner with Amazon teams and external providers to establish strategic maintenance quality goals
• Set and maintain company-wide standards for quality initiative implementation
• Verify new Preventive Maintenance (PM) processes meet safety and effectiveness requirements
• Design efficient quality management systems that optimize resources and timelines
• Address gaps between regions and teams to improve service delivery
• Drive consensus on quality priorities and approaches across teams
• Serve as quality engineering expert within high-performing RME team
Strategic Planning & Travel:
• Shape RME Quality's 3-5 year vision and roadmap
• Establish effective team dynamics and innovative testing programs
• Enhance maintenance procedure quality standards
• Required domestic travel up to 80%
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering or or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Reliability Program Manager or equivalent
- 5+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Ability to travel up to 80%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using CMMS systems and reporting
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools such as: 5S, 5Y, FMEA, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, Run Charts, Pareto Analysis
- Strong communication and presentation/facilitation skills
- Strong analytical skills to deep dive into data
- Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable processes
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to align, motivate and lead a team including creating accountability
- Prefer experience managing teams in an industrial environment containing conveyance, process control and powered trucks
- Demonstrated communication skills written and verbal including negotiation and conflict resolution
- Ability to lead others in a technical role and interact with all levels of management
- Reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to train others with lesser skills
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others.
- Field service engineering experience
- Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sortation systems
- Ability to develop and maintain a partnership and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally with Safety, Operations, Engineering, Sr. Management, peers, contractors and vendors
- Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects
- Six Sigma certification from accredited program
- Root Cause Analysis formal training and facilitation experience
- PMP certification
- Experience with Electrical and electronic principles
- Experience with Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
- Experience in usage of CMMS programs in support of RCA projects
- Experience with Preventive maintenance procedures, Industrial electrical, Industrial controls, and Industrial electronics & robotics
