    Boeing Defense, Space & Security** (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a **Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level)** to join our team located in **Huntsville, AL!

     

    This position will be Quality Engineer position supporting the Electronics Center of Excellence in Huntsville, AL requiring strong background in data analysis and reviewing Non-Conformance Reviews (NCRs) to established metrics. Preference will be given to candidates skilled in data analysis tools, such as SQL, Python, Tableau and PowerBI.

     

    This position requires the ability to develop and interpret quality metrics, perform data analysis and analyze non-conformance trends to present to leadership. Position requirements include participating and facilitating corrective actions and providing material review dispositions for non-conformances.

     

    This is an on-site position that currently supports a 4x10 work schedule. This based on business conditions and is at the hiring team’s discretion and may change in the future.

    This position requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the following relevant fields of study:

    + Engineering

    + Computer Science

    + Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology)

    + Data Science

    + IT (Information Technology)

    + Environmental Science

    + Management Science

    + Manufacturing Management in Quality

    Position Responsibilities:

    Level 2:

    + Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.

    + Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

    + Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.

    + Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

    + Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

    + Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.

    + Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

    + Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

    + Works under general supervision.

    Level 3:

    + Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

    + Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.

    + Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

    + Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.

    + Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

    + Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

    + Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.

    + Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

    + Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.

    + Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

    + Works under general direction

     

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

     

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    + Bachelor's or higher in one of relevant fields of study listed

    + Experience with AS9100 and/or a similar Quality Management System standard

    + More than 3 years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation

    + More than 1 year of experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences

    + More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

    + More than 1 year of experience working Root Cause Corrective Action

    + More than 1 year of experience working with Non-Conformance (NCR) processes

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    + **Level 3** : 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    + 1+ year of experience in SQL, Python or similar coding platform

    + 1+ year of experience in Tableau or PowerBI or similar

    + 1+ year of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams

    + Active U.S. Security Clearance

    + Experience interfacing with multiple levels of leadership

    + First Article Inspection (FAI) experience

    Summary pay range for associate level (Level 2): USD 73,100 – 98,900

     

    Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): USD 88,400 – 119,600
