Description

We are looking for a meticulous and resourceful Cost Accountant/Inventory Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Located in Tewksbury, Massachusetts area, this role involves ensuring accurate inventory transaction recording and supporting the financial impact analysis of inventory movements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have a familiarity with cost accounting and/or a solid understanding of the financial impact of these transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and record inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments, to ensure accuracy.

• Review and reconcile various inventory movement types to ensure compliance with established processes.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to inventory transactions to maintain data integrity.

• Collaborate with teams across Warehouse, Finance, and Supply Chain departments to validate transaction data.

• Document and enhance workflows and controls to improve inventory transaction processes.

• Maintain detailed logs and reports for inventory movements to support ongoing reviews.

• Assist with audits and data reviews during the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Provide insights and recommendations for improving inventory controls and financial reporting.

Requirements • Proven experience in cost accounting, particularly in manufacturing environments.

• Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.

• Proficiency in cost analysis and inventory transaction reconciliations.

• Familiarity with QAD or similar ERP systems.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and address discrepancies effectively.

• Excellent collaboration skills to work across multiple departments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and reporting standards.
