Description Are you a skilled accounting detail oriented looking to apply your expertise in a contract role? Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join a client’s team temporarily in Springfield, MA. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic work environment with a reputable organization. Job Responsibilities: Assist with day-to-day general accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger account reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met. Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including invoicing, billing, and vendor payments. Reconcile account discrepancies by analyzing data and investigating variances. Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Work on ad hoc financial projects and other tasks as needed to support the accounting team. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 2+ years of experience in accounting or related roles; internship experience may be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP). Strong knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP). Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
