Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join our team in Orlando, Florida. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate tax reporting, compliance, and planning within the hospitality industry. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse tax functions, including financial statement preparation, tax budgeting, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual tax workpapers to ensure precise reporting in financial statements and compliance with tax regulations.
• Maintain fixed asset ledgers for tax purposes to account for non-cash tax deductions and timing differences in asset values.
• Assist in developing tax budgets and forecasts to accurately calculate cash taxes and accruals.
• Prepare tax-related accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure proper reflection of tax accounts in financial statements.
• Manage and initiate timely tax payments through checks and electronic methods to meet federal and state requirements.
• Monitor and oversee the tax due date calendar to ensure prompt filing of returns and payments.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure compliance with corporate income tax provisions and annual reporting requirements.
• Support the organization in identifying opportunities for tax optimization and process improvement within the corporate framework.
• Provide expertise and guidance on corporate tax compliance and income tax calculations.
• Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and apply them to corporate tax practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; a Master’s degree with a concentration in Tax is preferred.
• Minimum of five years of tax accounting experience, ideally in regional or Big 4 public accounting, hospitality, or large corporate tax departments.
• Strong understanding of income tax concepts, calculations, and corporate tax compliance.
• Familiarity with corporate income tax provisions and annual tax reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage complex tax processes.
• Prior experience in the timeshare or hospitality industry is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced corporate environment.
