Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for managing both consumer and commercial collections processes, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate billing records. This position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in credit and collection workflows while contributing to the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the collection of overdue payments from both commercial and consumer accounts.

• Communicate with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and negotiate payment arrangements.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.

• Analyze accounts to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate actions.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address disputes and ensure smooth collection processes.

• Monitor payment trends and provide regular reports to management.

• Implement collection strategies to meet or exceed recovery targets.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

• Assist in streamlining credit and collection workflows for improved efficiency. Requirements • At least 2 years of experience in collections, including both commercial and consumer accounts.

• Strong knowledge of credit and collection practices and procedures.

• Proficiency in handling billing and payment reconciliation processes.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to analyze financial data and identify risk factors.

• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements in collections.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in using collection management software and tools.
