    Title: Cloud Systems Engineer

     

    Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000

    Overview:

    Robert Half is seeking a well-rounded Cloud Systems Engineer with solid experience supporting enterprise systems in Azure environments. The ideal candidate will help manage and evolve cloud infrastructure while driving secure and efficient operations across both virtual and physical platforms.

    Roles Responsibilities:

    + Oversee daily performance, health, and alerts across hybrid cloud systems, primarily in Azure.

    + Support provisioning, resource scaling, patching, and system migrations within Azure and on-prem environments.

    + Partner with internal teams to ensure infrastructure security policies are implemented and maintained across all services.

    + Lead or contribute to cross-functional technology initiatives, including new deployments and platform evaluations.

    + Assist with solution design, documentation, testing strategies, and rollout plans for infrastructure upgrades or changes.

    + Monitor performance metrics, conduct capacity planning, and adjust systems for optimal stability and efficiency.

    + Evaluate third-party technology, testing strategies, and software components as needed.

    + Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure systems meet business continuity requirements.

    + Follow established change control processes and contribute to process improvement where possible.

    Requirements

    Required Skills:

    + 3+ years of hands-on experience in systems or infrastructure engineering.

    + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

    + Demonstrated understanding of cloud-first environments and enterprise IT operations.

    + Familiarity with modern IT frameworks and compliance expectations (e.g., ITIL, SOC1, HIPAA, PCI).

    + Experience in creating or maintaining technical documentation and operational runbooks.

    Preferred Technical Skills:

    + Azure services and resource configuration.

    + Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and on-prem Active Directory.

    + Windows Server OS, including headless installations (Server Core).

    + Microsoft 365 suite, Teams, Intune, AVDS, and RDS.

    + Hypervisors: Azure Stack HCI, VMware, Hyper-V.

    + Infrastructure hardware: SAN, physical servers, backup appliances.

    + PowerShell scripting for automation and diagnostics.

    + Security tools: MFA, IAM, PAM, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.

    + Exposure to vendor coordination and audit preparation is helpful.

    Vital Soft Skills:

    + Self-starter who enjoys solving complex problems and digging into unfamiliar systems.

    + Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

    + Team-oriented mindset with the ability to also work independently.

    + Organized and detail-focused when it comes to documentation and process adherence.
