Join our healthcare team as a Medical Records Clerk, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and security of patient information while supporting the daily operations of the medical office. Key Responsibilities
+ Organize, manage, and retrieve medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
+ Verify the completeness and accuracy of patient charts and update information within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Cerner, Epic, or other platforms.
+ Prepare medical records for internal audits, insurance claims, or legal requests while ensuring compliance with policies and protocols.
+ Handle the day-to-day scanning, filing, and indexing of records, ensuring they are properly stored and readily accessible.
+ Respond to requests for medical records from healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies in a timely and professional manner.
+ Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and accurate information across patient files.
+ Assist other medical staff with administrative tasks including general office support as needed.
+ Maintain current knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations related to medical recordkeeping.
Requirements
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
+ Prior experience as a Medical Records Clerk or in a healthcare administrative role is highly preferred.
+ Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Cerner, Epic, Workday, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data while ensuring accuracy.
+ Understanding of medical terminology and experience adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) are a plus.
