Description Are you an experienced medical billing, claims, or collections detail oriented looking for your next opportunity? Robert Half is seeking a skilled Medical Billing/Claims/Collections Specialist to join our client, a reputable healthcare organization in Glastonbury, CT, on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities: Submit accurate claims to insurance carriers, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and regulations. Analyze and resolve unpaid or rejected claims by collaborating with insurance companies and patients as necessary. Monitor accounts receivable and perform collections activities to reduce outstanding balances. Process refunds, adjustments, and payment postings in accordance with organizational policies. Communicate effectively with the billing team to address discrepancies or provide updates on the billing cycle. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and billing software efficiently. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, claims, and collections (minimum of 2+ years preferred). Strong knowledge of insurance processes, coding principles (ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS), and collections protocols. Familiarity with commonly used EMR systems, such as Epic or Cerner, is highly desirable. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Impeccable attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPB, CPC) is a plus, but not required.
