Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Waipahu, Hawaii. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our accounting operations by handling invoices, payments, and supporting various accounting functions. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

• Process and post non-subcontractor invoices with precision, ensuring accurate purchase order matching and tax rate verification.

• Manage and update purchase order logs and related schedules using Microsoft Excel.

• Collaborate with project staff and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies promptly and efficiently.

• Issue vendor payments through checks or company credit cards, ensuring timely disbursement.

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing reports related to project expenses.

• Organize and provide required documentation to support year-end audit processes.

• Perform receptionist duties during breaks when needed, ensuring seamless front desk operations.

• Maintain, file, and retain accounting records in alignment with company policies and standards.

• Uphold workplace professionalism by demonstrating punctuality, effective communication, and respectful interactions.

• Take on additional tasks as assigned by management to support overall accounting and administrative functions. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, including invoice processing and account coding.

• Proficiency in handling automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and check runs.

• Strong skills in managing and coding invoices with attention to detail.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for maintaining logs and schedules.

• Ability to resolve discrepancies through effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.

• Familiarity with accounting practices and procedures in the construction industry is a plus.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and file accounting records.

• Detail-oriented approach with strong communication and time-management abilities.
