Description We are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous Director/Manager of Financial Reporting to oversee financial statement preparation, compliance, and reporting processes. Based in Princeton, New Jersey, this role will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while adhering to industry regulations and internal policies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting principles, leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex reporting tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end close process and ensure the timely preparation of financial statements.
• Manage the preparation and submission of SEC filings, including 10-K and 10-Q reports.
• Develop and maintain detailed work papers to support financial disclosures and filings.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal control policies.
• Oversee intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries to ensure accurate consolidation.
• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly fluctuation reports for operating results.
• Supervise the payroll process and ensure accurate sales tax filings.
• Collaborate with external auditors, providing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
• Train and manage the accounting team, fostering growth and adherence to company policies.
• Participate in special projects, such as process improvements and adoption of new accounting standards. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with biotech, life sciences, or public accounting backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is preferred.
