Description We are looking for a skilled HR Generalist to join our team on a contract basis in Columbia, South Carolina. This role involves providing comprehensive human resources support, including managing employee relations, overseeing onboarding processes, and ensuring the smooth administration of HR functions. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the higher education industry.
Responsibilities:
• Manage employee relations by addressing workplace concerns and fostering a positive organizational culture.
• Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new hires are seamlessly integrated into the organization.
• Administer benefit programs, providing guidance and support to employees regarding their options.
• Maintain and update HR information systems to ensure accurate and accessible employee records.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with department managers to address staffing needs and provide HR-related guidance.
• Monitor compliance with labor laws and organizational standards.
• Support performance management initiatives, including evaluations and feedback processes.
• Coordinate training programs to promote skill development among employees.
• Prepare reports and analyze HR data to inform decision-making processes. Requirements • Proven experience in human resources administration, preferably in the higher education sector.
• Solid understanding of employee relations practices and conflict resolution techniques.
• Familiarity with onboarding procedures and best practices.
• Knowledge of benefit program administration and related regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms and tools for managing employee information.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
