Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Kern County California. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization within a growing industry. The role is ideal for someone seeking to grow their HR expertise while supporting key administrative and compliance functions.
Responsibilities:
• Support HR compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to Federal and State labor laws as well as company policies.
• Assist in managing employee relations by providing initial guidance on performance management and employment terminations, escalating complex cases as needed.
• Help identify training needs and collaborate with the HR Manager to implement development programs.
• Conduct audits of personnel files and HR processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collect and analyze HR data, such as employee surveys and turnover statistics, to identify areas for improvement.
• Participate in investigations related to HR complaints, documenting findings and outcomes thoroughly.
• Assist in creating and updating job descriptions, policies, procedures, and other HR documents.
• Provide support for biweekly payroll processing for a small group of employees.
• Act as a cultural ambassador by promoting the organization’s values and fostering a positive work environment.
• Offer administrative support for reasonable accommodations and interactive processes.
Requirements • Fluent in both Spanish and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
• Valid California driver’s license with the ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Office applications.
• Solid understanding of employment laws and labor regulations, including California-specific guidelines.
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively manage HR-related tasks and projects.
• Effective coaching and advisory skills, enabling successful resolution of employee-related issues.
• Preferred qualifications include HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
• 2-4 years of HR experience, with a background in the agricultural industry being advantageous. TalentMatch®
