    An innovative and fast-growing biotech company in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join their finance team. As the company continues to expand its research and product development efforts, the accounting team plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency. In this role, you’ll support day-to-day accounting functions, assist with financial reporting, and help maintain compliance with internal controls.     Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and account reconciliations

    + Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports

    + Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements

    + Help maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable

    + Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures

    + Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and forecasting activities

    + Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures

    + Provide administrative support for audits and financial reviews

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

    + 1–2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally in a scientific or technical environment

    + Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage)

    + Solid understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards

    + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
