Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their growing team in Somerset County, New Jersey. This contract to hire position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records. As part of the manufacturing industry, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts and ensuring timely collections.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive account reconciliations to verify payment accuracy and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts.

• Assess and manage customer credit risk, including evaluating new applications and adjusting credit limits as necessary.

• Generate and maintain aging reports to monitor overdue payments and ensure consistent follow-up.

• Provide regular updates to management on the status of receivables and collection efforts.

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding billing and payment issues, maintaining professionalism in all communications.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address customer disputes related to invoices or payments.

• Maintain precise records of all transactions and customer communications for audit and reporting purposes.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring accurate processing of accounts receivable transactions.

• Assist with administrative tasks, including preparing reports and updating financial systems.

• Help improve collection processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of accounts receivable operations.

Requirements • High school diploma required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a similar financial role is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle financial data with precision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.

• Proven problem-solving skills to investigate discrepancies and resolve account-related issues.

• Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in collections or credit management is preferred but not required.
