Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This position involves managing billing operations for Medicaid home health services and ensuring accuracy in claims processing and accounts receivable. Based in Richmond, Virginia, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry by streamlining billing functions and resolving denials.

Responsibilities:

• Process Medicaid home health billing claims, ensuring compliance with payer-specific guidelines.

• Handle billing for various insurance providers, including Aetna, Anthem, Sentara, United, and Medicaid.

• Address and resolve claim denials through appeals and follow-ups.

• Obtain prior authorizations to ensure timely reimbursement for services.

• Maintain and update patient schedules monthly to facilitate accurate billing cycles.

• Clean up accounts receivable buckets to improve payment workflows.

• Utilize tools such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Epaces to manage billing and claims.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Conduct bi-weekly billing operations to meet organizational timelines. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing, specifically in home health services.

• Proficiency in using systems like Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Epaces.

• Strong understanding of Medicaid billing processes and requirements.

• Ability to manage accounts receivable and resolve outstanding claims.

• Experience handling prior authorizations and appeals for insurance claims.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Excellent organizational skills for maintaining patient schedules and billing cycles.

• Knowledge of claim administration and benefit functions within the healthcare industry.
