Summary You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Congressional and Public Affairs Office (N02P), Office of the Chief of Staff (N02) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND. Responsibilities You will write speeches and talking points and develop presentations for use by the commander and senior leaders. You will research, organize and prepare finished text and supporting audiovisual materials with minimum guidance. You will assist in supervising preparation of magazine articles for publication in journals and trade press magazines that report on merchant marine and defense issues and highlight command and/or employee achievements. You will attend weekly battle rhythm events and meetings that provide background information needed to produce public affairs communication products. You will perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Resume must demonstrate the following specialized experience: Experience in creating clear and engaging written informational materials for distribution across various media platforms. Experience in writing speeches, news releases, fact sheets, and scripts to effectively communicate complex program information. Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with public affairs entities, including national organizations, defense transportation, and U.S. maritime sectors. Experience in preparing presentations for diverse news media to promote support for the command's missions. Experience advising leadership on public affairs strategies and programs to enhance the command's outreach and impact.
