• Structural Design Technician Senior

    Jacobs (Columbus, OH)


    Responsible for Designer activity on projects. Assist in assigning Project Building and Area Leads with Staffing Coordinator and project lead. Assign Package leads, Bluebeam stewards, detail steward. Provide weekly staffing updates to staffing coordinator and coordinate with designer leads and lead engineer. Addressing staffing issues (workload balance / sick leave / staffing shortage). Ensure all Scope, building and package Leads are fully trained. Mentor and Assist Scope and Building Leads. Coordinate Detailing and Drafting Standards with QC Specialists. Weekly training and scope management for companies contracted through Jacobs who's scope deliverable is produced as a Jacobs deliverable. Coordinator for sub-contractors. Coverage for Area and Package Leads as needed. RFI standards/procedures/training. Reporting package status issues to management. Coordinate MEPC on deliverables with MEPC on Lead. Following up with questions from Engineers, designers, leads and BIM team/tracking down answers. Coordinating with Clash leads to establish workflow. Coordinate with Lead Project Engineer BB workflow.

     

    Telecommuting /Hybrid schedule (must be willing to commute to Columbus, OH office few times a week).

     

    Travel: 10% International and domestic travel for the project site visit, training coordination.

    REQUIREMENTS: This position requires 48 months of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.

     

    SPECIFIC SKILLS: Required expertise/ knowledge includes: Revit Software. Drafting/design experience in the Structural field. Traditional steel and concrete structures. Semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities. Navisworks and Bluebeam. RTV tools. IDEATE tools. AutoCAD.
