    TheInstitutes of Applied Human Dynamics (IAHD)is seeking aChief People Officer (CPO)to join our executive team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership to align our workforce strategy with the organization’s mission—ensuring that IAHD remains a values-driven, people-centered organization delivering exceptional services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

     

    •About the RoleAs Chief People Officer, you’ll provide both strategic and tactical leadership across all aspects of Human Resources, while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO on organization-wide operations, communications, and key initiatives. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining a high-performing, mission-aligned workforce that reflects IAHD’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, and accountability.

    •What You’ll Do

    + Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, helping to shape organizational priorities, resolve complex challenges, and advance IAHD’s mission

    + Lead all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compensation, labor negotiations, performance management, and compliance

    + Ensure HR policies and practices are up-to-date, equitable, and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations

    + Work with leaders at all levels to recommend and execute hiring and separation decisions

    + Maintain and update the Employee Handbook, ensuring it reflects current laws, best practices, and IAHD culture

    + Supervise and support HR staff in recruitment, benefits administration, records management, and employee support

    + Collaborate with senior leadership to support staffing strategy, job design, and succession planning

    + Provide ongoing training and support to managers on employee performance, including coaching and labor relations

    + Lead the administration and interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)

    + Track and analyze key HR metrics and deliver reports to the CEO

    + Ensure integrity of HR systems and records, including oversight of personnel files and human resource information systems (HRIS)

    + Represent IAHD professionally in internal and external matters, including interactions with legal counsel, regulatory agencies, unemployment hearings and union negotiations

    + Work alongside the CEO on organization-wide communication, staff engagement, and emergency response planning

    Qualifications

    •Requirements

    + Master’s degreein public administration, business, social work, human services, or related field

    + 10+ years of experiencein the not-for-profit sector, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive leadership role within a DD organization

    + (OR Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience in not-for-profit or human services leadership)

    + Deep knowledge of HR operations, collective bargaining, labor law, and not-for-profit workforce strategy

    + Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to work with a workforce that is culturally and educationally diverse

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms

    + High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical leadership

    + A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a passion for continuous learning
