    Position Summary

    We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Director, Lead Data Scientist to manage our IT Metrics & Reporting team. This is a premier opportunity for a leader who excels at navigating complex challenges, architecting scalable data ecosystems, and directly contributing to the creation of advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on expert, passionate about leveraging data to enhance IT service availability, automate critical processes, and foster a culture of operational superiority. This role is pivotal in transforming our IT services through actionable intelligence and predictive insights.

     

    + **Strategic Leadership & Mentorship** : Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of data scientists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. While providing strategic direction, this role remains deeply technical, requiring direct involvement in the execution of complex data science initiatives.

    + **Advanced Analytics & AI Solutions** : Architect, develop, and deploy sophisticated analytics and artificial intelligence solutions to proactively manage IT service availability, predict and prevent outages, and optimize overall performance.

    + **Insightful Reporting & Visualization** : Champion the development and enhancement of dynamic dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI and other leading BI platforms. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to senior leadership.

    + **Data Engineering & Optimization** : Author and refine complex SQL queries and Python scripts for robust data extraction, transformation, and the creation of sophisticated data models. Ensure data pipelines are efficient, scalable, and reliable.

    + **Intelligent Automation of ITSM** : Spearhead the integration of machine learning models and intelligent automation workflows to revolutionize IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. Drive significant improvements in incident, problem, and change management through data-driven and automated solutions.

    + **Cross-Functional Collaboration** : Serve as a key partner to ITSM teams, business analysts, and service owners. Translate evolving operational requirements into cutting-edge AI and data-centric solutions that drive business value.

    Required Qualifications

    + **Technical Proficiency** : Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools, expert-level SQL and Python programming skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel.

    + 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, Data Engineering & Visualization, and/or other related discipline.

    + **Proven Leadership:** Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a high-performing team of data scientists and engineers in a fast-paced, enterprise-level environment.

    + 7+ years of experience in managing technology strategy and highly technical teams.

    + **Extensive Data Science Expertise** : A proven track record in data science, predictive modeling, and data visualization, preferably within an ITSM, BI, or a related technology domain.

    + 5+ years in Data Science and/or Data Visualization

    + **AI/ML Implementation** : Verifiable expertise in the end-to-end development and deployment of AI and machine learning models, as well as automation solutions that support and enhance IT operations.

    + 5+ years of experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions

    + **IT Operations Knowledge** : Deep familiarity with availability and outage management reporting, and a strong understanding of the metrics that drive IT operational success.

    + 3+ years of exposure to infrastructure technologies and operations

    Preferred Qualifications

    + **ITSM Frameworks** : ITIL certification is highly desirable, coupled with hands-on experience with ServiceNow or other major ITSM platforms.

    + **Relevant Certifications** : Professional certifications in Microsoft Power Platform, ITSM, or other related technologies will be considered a significant asset.

    + **Business Acumen** : A background as a Business Analyst is a plus, highlighting an ability to bridge the gap between technical solutions and business needs.

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

     

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $100,000.00 - $231,540.00

     

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
