    Role Summary/Purpose:

    We are seeking a Senior Vice President of Performance Marketing - Demand Generation to lead our efforts across paid, organic, and owned media channels while driving measurable growth, innovation, and business impact for Synchrony. This role requires operational leadership, strategic acumen, and technical expertise to ensure our marketing efforts align with broader business objectives and deliver profitable growth. Reporting into the SVP Performance Marketing, this leader will spearhead cross-functional collaboration, elevate our media, direct channel and account management capabilities, and refine media measurement strategies for optimized return on investment (ROI).

     

    The ideal candidate will uphold a data-driven approach to marketing, effectively integrating creativity, analytics, and technology to redefine customer acquisition, retention, and brand engagement. This role is critical in developing cohesive omni-channel strategies and overseeing the performance of media investments across paid, organic, and owned platforms.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Lead and shape the performance marketing media and channel strategy with a focus on driving measurable growth and delivering maximum ROI across paid (digital/traditional), organic, and owned media channels.

    + Manage and integrate media measurement frameworks to continuously refine marketing tactics and assess the effectiveness of campaigns across all channels.

    + Oversee account management and direct channel teams and processes to maximize collaboration, performance, and outcomes across client relationships, consumer journeys and marketing initiatives.

    + Oversight and governance responsibility for large cross functional processes including Enterprise Social media and Campaign management

    + Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert counsel that positively impacts the business and drives long-term partnerships.

    + Drive data-driven, marketing campaign innovation, activation and execution leveraging analytics and consumer insights to optimize performance and profitability.

    + Knowledge of advanced marketing technologies and tools, including machine learning and AI, to enhance customer acquisition and engagement campaigns.

    + Drive cross-channel audience segmentation and targeting, leveraging a deep understanding of the customer journey to optimize acquisition, retention, and lifecycle marketing efforts

    + Serve as a marketing transformation leader, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization

    + Ensure seamless integration between creative and media strategies to deliver cohesive, high-impact campaigns that resonate with target audiences.

    + Partner closely with Analytics, Brand and Consumer Engagement, Corporate Communication and Platform teams to align marketing initiatives with broader business goals.

    + Analyze competitive market landscapes and consumer behavior trends to inform strategic recommendations and develop differentiated strategies.

    + Identify data gaps in campaigns and recommend alternative sources or metrics to enhance tracking and reporting accuracy.

    + Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree high school diploma/GED and 15+ years of progressive experience in marketing.

    + 12+ years in leading performance marketing initiatives across paid, organic, and owned channels in complex, data-driven environments.

    + 6+ years of extensive experience managing and mentoring high-performance teams, with a demonstrated ability to lead transformative enterprise-wide initiatives in large scale global teams.

    + Strong ability to develop integrated marketing strategies, navigate competitive landscapes, and deliver innovative approaches to drive measurable business growth.

    + Proficiency in advanced marketing technologies, including analytics platforms, audience segmentation tools, machine learning applications, and proprietary methods.

    + Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally and rally teams around a compelling narrative to achieve shared goals.

    + Keen analytical ability to translate market trends and data insights into actionable strategies; experience with media measurement frameworks is required.

    Desired Characteristics:

    + MBA or advanced degree preferred.

    + Experience in consumer financial services with exposure to a credit card or retail environment, or a regulated industry.

    + Demonstrated leadership in large-scale, in-house operations in the US and India with expertise in talent and career development.

    + Exceptional at cultivating strategic relationships with industry leaders, partners and influencers to drive growth and brand visibility.

     

    Grade/Level: 16

     

    The salary range for this position is **235,000.00 - 390,000.00** USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 30% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 30% of salary.

     

    Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

     

    Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    + You must be 18 years or older

    + You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

    + You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

    + You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

    + New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
