Job Description
Support multiple areas of the Law School by performing reporting, data modeling, and financial modeling tasks; developing and supporting data collection, storage, and security; leading special projects for the dean’s office; analyzing marketing data; and driving strategic decision making and problem solving. Duties include:
•Collect, analyze, and submit all data related to the Law School’s accreditation and surveys including but not limited to ABA, US News, National Association of Law Placement and Princeton Review.
•Build, maintain, and present data models that track and predict various rankings.
•Analyze the US News & ABA annual survey and submission process and re-accreditation process when applicable.
•Remain current on ABA accreditation requirements and manage the annual ABA annual questionnaire submission and re-accreditation process.
•Review data collection methods and identify areas for improvements.
•Build and maintain central data warehouse for law school data.
•Represent the Law School while working with Institutional Research & Planning (IR&P) and Information Technology (ITS) on projects related to the Boston College Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
•Build, update, and maintain key financial models for the Associate Dean, Finance & Administration, including the five-year tuition and tuition remission projections.
•Design and automate various financial reports.
•Collaborate with the Associate Dean to build financial forecasts and projections.
•Collaborate with business partners, cross-functional teams, and other departments focused on delivering data analytics across various data platforms.
•Assist the Director of Marketing & Communications in managing analytical data, and present periodic and annual reports on traffic and analysis for various web presences.
•Work with the marketing team to manage and analyze social media traffic.
May telecommute within commuting distance of worksite.
Requirements
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Analytics, Urban Informatics, Statistics, or a related field followed by 2 years of experience in a data analytics-related occupation.
Experience must include the following, which may have been gained concurrently:
1) 2 years of experience using business intelligence tools including Tableau, QuickSight, SAS, SQL, or Tableau to build dashboards and reports, and creating deep-dive analysis to influence business decisions.
2) 2 years of experience performing root cause analysis using SQL to retrieve and analyze data.
3) 2 years of experience conducting statistical data analysis to measure effectiveness and success of various programs.
4) 2 years of experience defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enable data-driven decision making and strategic improvements across various departments.
5) 2 years of experience making presentations about complex analytical concepts to large groups and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
6) 2 years of experience developing JSON scripts.
7) 2 years of experience profiling, investigating, and interpreting data analysis.
8) 2 years of experience detailing data requirements, data modelling techniques, and hands-on modelling.
9) 2 years of experience utilizing SQL, Stata, or Ror.
