SUMMARY OF THE JOB :
ServiceNow Discovery & Development Engineer role will be responsible for implementing and troubleshooting Discovery, maintaining high-quality CMDB data, and supporting development work across the ServiceNow platform. This role is a key contributor in enabling automated visibility across our infrastructure and applications while building robust solutions that support business goals
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Configure and troubleshoot ServiceNow Discovery across on-prem and cloud environments (e.g., Azure)
+ Analyze Discovery patterns and probes to ensure accurate CI population and relationship mapping.
+ Implement MID Server deployments, credential management, IP range configuration, and Discovery schedules.
+ Develop and maintain ServiceNow applications using Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, and REST/SOAP Integrations
+ Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to identify gaps and improve Discovery coverage
+ Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues in the CMDB
+ Assist with integration of third-party tools such as Tenable, Azure, and SolarWinds
+ Document technical implementations, and provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams
Minimum knowledge/skills:
+ 3+ years of experience working with ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB
+ ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA); Discovery or CMDB certifications a plus
+ Strong proficiency with ServiceNow development (JavaScript, Scripted REST APIs, Catalog Items)
+ Deep understanding of ITOM best practices and CSDM
+ Experience configuring MID Servers and working with secured networks and firewall rules
+ Familiarity with cloud platform discovery and network protocols (SNMP, WMI, SSH)
+ Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
+ Experience with ITOM Visibility, Service Mapping, or Event Management a plus
+ Knowledge of PowerShell or Python for MID Server extension scripts a plus
+ Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies a plus
