    Position Description

    The Administrative Services Officer 2 - Security position provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Deputy Court Administrator for Campus Security and/or their designee. This position ensures the smooth functioning of security-related administrative processes, including supporting contract monitoring; supports daily operations; and supports the Deputy Administrator in the implementation of security initiatives across Juvenile Court facilities. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with a strong commitment to public service.

    Typical Duties

    + Serves as the primary administrative liaison for the Deputy Court Administrator for Campus Security and Security Lead Officer, facilitating communication and coordination within the security team and with other departments.

    + Assists with scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and preparing agendas and minutes for security-related meetings and training sessions.

    + Supports the management and documentation of security protocols, incident reports, and compliance records; ensure timely and accurate filing and retrieval of sensitive documents.

    + Coordinates procurement of security equipment and supplies, process purchase orders, and track expenditures in accordance with budgetary guidelines.

    + Prepares and maintains statistical, operational, and financial reports to support security management decision-making.

    + Assists with onboarding, training coordination, and recordkeeping for security personnel; maintain up-to-date personnel files and training logs.

    + Monitors and processes timekeeping records, payroll submissions, and personnel actions for the security unit and contract monitor.

    + Supports the implementation and communication of new security policies, procedures, and compliance measures; help draft and distribute security communications and updates.

    + Coordinates the maintenance and service requests for security systems, access control, and surveillance equipment; liaise with vendors and service providers as needed.

    + Participates in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance campus safety and operational efficiency.

    + Maintains organized and confidential administrative records in compliance with department and Civil Service standards.

    Minimum Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience in an administrative, financial, technical, or related field.

     

    "Additional experience may be used in lieu of education (1:1 Ratio). *

    Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

     

    Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

     

    + Professional experience in administrative support, preferably in security, law enforcement, or public safety environments

    + Proficiency with office software and data management systems
