    Pay and benefits

     

    + 120 hours of paid time off your first year, not including an additional 13 agency holidays.

    + $23.00 - $24.16/hr minimum to start.

    Minimum Education and Skills

     

    + High school Diploma/GED(required), Bachelor's degree preferred.

    + Valid driver's license(required).

    + Must be able to build appropriate, respectful relationships with youth, guide their development, manage unit/cottage effectively, participate in overall treatment plan, and be able to exercise common sense and professional judgment.

    + 2 years field related experience(required)

    + 1 year previous supervisory experience(required)

    Job Description

    Job Title: Youth Support Specialist Supervisor Department: Residential Services

     

    Title of Immediate Supervisor:Residential Treatment Team Director POSITION SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervision of Youth Support Specialists and Senior Youth Support Specialists to ensure proper care of youth, direct supervision of youth, safety of youth and facilities, crisis management, record keeping and reporting. Assist Youth Support Specialists and Sr. Youth Support Specialists in maintaining a therapeutic milieu by creating a trauma informed environment. This is achieved in part by supervising youth 24 hours per day, assisting youth with daily living, providing individual and group counseling and support, and ensuring the safety and welfare of all youth in care at New Directions Youth & Family Services, Inc within NDYFS Normative Culture.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1. Perform on the floor childcare coverage as needed. 2. Provide regular, formal and direct supervision of Youth Support Specialists and Senior Youth Support Specialists and enforce agency policies and procedures. 3. Prepare Youth Support Specialists schedules and insure proper coverage in the suite/cottage and coordinate coverage with other suites/cottages and programs as needed. 4. Assist other supervisors in providing the agency with supervisory functions daily. 5. Coordinates daily the day-to-day operations of all suites/cottages and apartment program including service plan implementation, regular communication with all departments, youth’s schedules, etc. 6. Ensures complete and timely reporting including supervisory log, incident reports, suite log, work/purchase orders daily and the preparation of written annual evaluations. 7. Chair apartment and team meetings weekly. 8. Meet weekly with Campus Life Manager or Director, keeping the Manager or Director well informed as to all pertinent information. 9. Monitors clothing inventory and disbursement for primary suite and other suites of residential services asneeded. 10. Assist in the screening process for new Youth Support Specialists and in the orientation and training of new staff asneeded. 11. Meet weekly with residents to communicate pertinent information in a timely fashion. 12. Meet weekly with social workers to communicate pertinent information and share information with staff in a timely fashion. 13. Review treatment programs monthly and participate in the development and implementation of any changes in programming. 14. Consult with the Life Skills Instructor/team to provide proper life skills experience and instruction for specific residents in care as needed. 15. Provide in-service training for staff weekly.

     

    16. Attend and actively participate in in-service training, program meetings, supervision meetings, service plan review conferences, pre-placement interviews and others as needed.

    17. Assist with home-visit transportation arrangements weekly. 18. Maintains Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR certification provided by the agency 19. All other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
