Title of Position: Learning to Work (LTW) Intern
Status: Temporary, Part-Time
Compensation: $16.50 per hour
Schedule: 10–15 hours per week (based on school schedule and availability)
Queens Community House (QCH) provides a network of programs for children, youth, and older adults throughout the diverse communities of Queens. The Learning to Work (LTW) Internship Program is designed for students currently enrolled in an LTW partner high school to gain valuable job experience in supportive, entry-level roles. This opportunity allows youth to explore career pathways, build soft skills, and contribute meaningfully to a local business, non-profit, or school-based site.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Report to a designated workplace supervisor and QCH Internship Coordinator.
+ Attend mandatory work readiness training and job coaching sessions.
+ Perform administrative, customer service, or program support duties depending on assigned site.
+ Demonstrate professionalism by arriving on time, following workplace protocols, and adhering to dress codes.
+ Communicate regularly with QCH Internship Coordinator about any challenges or questions.
+ Submit accurate timesheets and evaluations as required.
+ Represent QCH and your school in a positive, respectful manner.
Qualifications:
+ Must be currently enrolled in a QCH LTW partner high school.
+ Must be between the ages of 15–21 and eligible to work in New York City.
+ Strong communication and time management skills.
+ Willingness to learn new tasks and work in a team-oriented environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete assignments responsibly.
