CRITICAL: Engineering Extrusion Technician

Job Description

This role involves providing technical support for medical tubing extrusion, including extruding and combining resins and colorants, as well as responding to engineering requests. The technician will be responsible for producing medical-grade extruded tubing safely, improving quality, reducing scrap, and meeting task and cycle time requirements. Duties include operating, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and work documents, working on new products, processes, and test methods, creating or updating instructions, and supporting training efforts. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP standards is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Apply technical concepts and practices to resolve manufacturing and R&D tasks.

+ Perform set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, materials, systems, and products.

+ Troubleshoot and solve problems, analyzing data to identify issues and trends.

+ Collect, compile, measure, organize, and record data, providing input to engineering and validation studies.

+ Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work routine to meet schedules and tasks.

+ Communicate effectively with team members, functional groups, and internal customers, and contact outside vendors as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in medical extrusion.

+ High school diploma or equivalent education.

+ Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in the medical device field, ideally with 3+ years in engineering.

+ Hands-on proficiency with extrusion processes.

+ Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are highly preferred.

The work environment is a ramp-up period with a busy, start-up feel. The manufacturing area is a class 7 clean room, new to the organization and site. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
