    CEQA/NEPA Environmental Planner

     

    Worksite: Hybrid (3 days in Office, 2 days remote)

    Position Overview:

    Seeking a highly motivated Environmental Planner with experience in CEQA/NEPA compliance to join our team. This role involves preparing state and federal environmental documents and ensuring regulatory compliance across a variety of projects throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in environmental planning and a passion for contributing to sustainable development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and write portions of CEQA and NEPA documents, including IS/MNDs, EIRs, EAs, and EISs.

    + Conduct research and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

    + Coordinate with public agencies to address environmental review comments.

    + Perform land use planning and demographic analysis.

    + Develop technical reports, special studies, and mapping; interpret model data.

    + Support Project Managers on multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines.

    + Document meetings, assist in scope development, and monitor project budgets and schedules.

    + Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.

    + Participate in internal and client meetings.

    + Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in natural science, biology, botany, wildlife management, or a related field.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental consulting or public planning in Southern California.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    + Familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, and environmental regulations.

    + Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

    + Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience with GIS, GPS (Trimble), LiDAR, and mapping software.

    + Knowledge of cultural and tribal consultation processes (AB52, SB18).

    + Background in regulatory permitting, flood control, stormwater management, and land development.

    + Familiarity with environmental engineering, urban planning, and natural resource management.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $46.00/hr.
