Job Description
As a pharmacist, you will play a critical role in dispensing and supervising the medication and supplies filling process in accordance with physicians' prescriptions. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy of prescriptions, checking for drug interactions, compounding medications, and preparing special solutions. You will counsel patients regarding the appropriate use of medications and oversee daily ordering and automatic refills. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, you will plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient effectiveness, and recommend drug therapy changes when appropriate. You will ensure the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, guide and direct the activities of pharmacy technicians and students, and provide physicians and healthcare professionals with information on proper drug therapy for patients.
Responsibilities
+ Dispense and supervise the medication and supplies filling process in accordance with physicians' prescriptions.
+ Review prescriptions for accuracy and check for drug interactions.
+ Compound medications and prepare special solutions.
+ Counsel patients regarding the appropriate use of medications.
+ Oversee daily ordering and automatic refills.
+ Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient effectiveness.
+ Recommend drug therapy changes when appropriate.
+ Ensure the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
+ Guide and direct the activities of pharmacy technicians and students.
+ Provide physicians and healthcare professionals with information on proper drug therapy for patients.
+ Review OTC and medical prescriptions to ensure suitability for a patient.
+ Provide patients with information regarding drug interactions, side effects, and storage requirements.
+ Maintain records of patient profiles, inventory, and registries of narcotics.
+ Calculate, weigh, and mix ingredients to compound drugs as prescribed by medical doctors.
Essential Skills
+ PharmD degree
+ Expertise in pharmaceutical practices and pharmacy operations
+ Knowledge of reimbursement processes
+ Experience in retail pharmacy
+ Pharmacy support skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Qualification as a licensed pharmacist
+ Bilingual: Spanish preferred but not required
Work Environment
You will be working in a small pharmacy located inside a clinic that serves anyone who walks through its doors, with all services being self-pay. You will be the only pharmacist working alongside two technicians. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with occasional Saturday coverage from 8 AM to 3 PM, up to 1-2 times per month.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $70.00/hr.
