    Job Summary

    The Senior Chemist applies scientific principles to formulate materials, creating new products or refining current ones. This role involves conducting research, analysis, and experimentation on products or raw materials for product and process development. The Senior Chemist takes the technical lead in these areas and provides training and guidance to less experienced technicians and chemists.

    Responsibilities

    + Investigate and develop new technologies and methodologies.

    + Conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve them.

    + Lead new product development initiatives.

    + Develop and formulate innovative and cost-effective solutions.

    + Research new or alternate raw materials for cost control and plant economies, aiming to create new products or improve existing ones.

    + Provide training and work-related guidance to less experienced technicians and chemists.

    + Prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.

    + Solve problems and manage distressed products or raw materials.

    + Provide technical service support, including customer complaint investigations.

    + Evaluate and interpret test results and make appropriate recommendations.

    Qualifications

    + Experience in formulations from the industry, with a preference for paints, cleaning products, inks, coatings, or cosmetics.

    + Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred, in Chemistry or related fields.

    + 6-10 years of experience in R&D formulation.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
