Scientist – Cell & Molecular Biology (CRISPR/Immunology Focus)
Type: Contract | Full-Time
The Functional Immunology and Innovative Technologies (FIIT) team at a leading research center in Cambridge, MA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join the CRISPR Center of Excellence. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge immunology research in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on advancing therapeutic discovery.
We’re looking for a passionate scientist with strong hands-on experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques, who thrives in a team-oriented setting and is eager to contribute to impactful research.
Key Responsibilities
+ Independently perform a wide range of laboratory procedures including:
+ Immune cell culture
+ Cellular functional assays
+ Lentivirus generation
+ Transfection and electroporation
+ Single-cell cloning
+ Nucleic acid and protein extraction, purification, and analysis
+ DNA sequencing, PCR, qRT-PCR, and Western blotting
+ Support small molecule and biologics drug development efforts.
+ Contribute to target validation using genetic tools such as CRISPR, RNAi, ORF overexpression, and mutagenesis.
+ Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and data.
+ Continuously develop technical expertise and adopt new workflows to support evolving project needs.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
+ 3+ years (BS) or 2+ years (MS) of hands-on laboratory experience.
+ Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, lentivirus production, PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
+ Experience with genomic DNA isolation and validation of genetic edits.
+ Familiarity with a broad range of cell-based assays.
+ Solid understanding of CRISPR and RNAi-based technologies.
+ Prior experience in an industry or translational research setting.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
+ Experience with functional CRISPR screening.
+ Experience in small molecule drug development and screening.
+ Hands-on experience with immunoassays (FACS, ELISA, Western blot).
+ Bioinformatics experience is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
