Job Title: Electronics Technician III

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Flexible hours between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to support Controls Lab operations at Cummins. This technician will play a hands-on role in the troubleshooting, configuration, and support of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems and lab equipment. The position involves completing technical work orders, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring all lab systems operate efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Monitor and complete work orders related to test system setup and maintenance

+ Support hardware setup and system configuration for HIL test environments

+ Troubleshoot and resolve test equipment software and hardware issues

+ Perform setup changes for test benches and systems as required

+ Install and configure support software tools such as CyberApps, LUIS, and related sequences

+ Modify wiring harnesses to integrate sensors, instruments, and engine components (e.g., IAT, EGR, VGT)

+ Document hardware configurations including serial numbers, hardware types, and system load drawers

+ Maintain CAN panel and actuator cart configurations

+ Conduct system calibration, scheduled maintenance, and harness checkouts

+ Assist in development of custom test equipment and documentation

+ Provide general lab support including equipment organization and follow-up on hardware returns

+ Support training material updates and troubleshooting guide contributions

+ Participate in lab inventory upkeep, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives

+ Collaborate with hardware engineers and technical teams on project support needs

Top Skills Required:

+ Knowledge of electronic circuits

+ System troubleshooting experience

+ Familiarity with electronic tools and data measurement systems

Qualifications:

+ Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a technician or technical support role

+ Strong hands-on experience with electronic systems and lab testing environments

+ Ability to interpret and execute test setup requirements

+ Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills

+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
